POSTBAG RESPONSE:

Firstly, we will again point out, that UK.org, is open to all opinions covering every aspect of human rights, and will lobby the appropriate bodies if our legal department deem people's concerns as a human rights violation.
We welcome any and all input, no matter how controversial, whether its aimed at UK.org, or if it is constructive opinions which require answers, or if not, some form of response if its called for, and providing its for the good of Burma.

We are happy whatever form of delivery our comments may be received, and we do hear of many weird and wonderful ways, but at least these abstract delivery systems permit people without means to communicate with the outside world, to take a broader look at their country other than from a Burmese perspective.  Once we confirm that the comment/s are from UK.org, we can discuss requests and opinions arising from them, but not all incoming opinions are in response to genuine concerns, but are simply fanatical antagonisms aimed at preventing advancement on the political front line, where many of the named e-mail address's are nonreturnable.

Criticism of our referrals to the NLD and its inability to fulfil its obligations to the people, which, is a political assessment of hard facts, and does not derive from emotional disarray, is welcome. We as a separate entity living in a free society have nothing to gain by being unnecessarily vindictive.  We can after all, leave the office and disappear into what ever social programme we choose, and completely forget the suffering of countries less fortunate than ourselves.  But, most if not all of UK.org, spend all their free time helping others in some form.
It would be extremely naive to say we never get anything wrong, of course we do, we are after all, human, and can occasionally be duped by clever plotters.  This is one of the reasons why we have 'collective' comments, because the famous saying:

" you cant fool all of the people all of the time", is of course very true!

A multitude of intellect is fuel for democracy
A single intellect is a recipe for dictatorship

UK.org founder

As would any general staff, planning a battle, or a business planning a new project, the 'org' will study the ground.  It will study the participants in great depth, their intellect, their strengths, their weakness.  Their history, their present.  Their tactics, their successes, their failures.  Their allies, their enemies. Their morals, their likes, their dislikes, their frustrations, their vices.  Their culture, their fears, their capacity for logic, their personal ambitions.  Their cunning, their bravado.  Their capacity for inflicting pain and punishment, and their own capacity to bear it inflicted upon them, and, their ability to fight and survive!  We could go on and on.  But if the minority of Burmese people who cannot accept reality bothered to study its own country and the people who represent it, they will find the same answers that we do.  Of course we do have advantages, but we try to use those advantages by speaking out, at times even against our own country, if we believe they could do more.

Aung San was a soldier first, and a politician second.  He knew in which order democracy was born from.  His decision to desert the Japanese in favour of his old adversary, the British, was a military move, reached by careful assessment of the war situation, and the morals of those powers involved. The political move directed at self rule, was also a well thought out action, but without the first, the second could not have happened.  Where, had he stuck with the Japanese, his own fate, together with his status of today, would, like Burma, be very different today, as Burma, like Japan, would have, after total defeat, have become an American seed, maybe even, growing strong as did Japan, into one of the worlds richest economies.  American indoctrination may even have prevented the wars against communism which followed in later years, from Malaya through to Vietnam.  The whole of South East Asia would reveal a different picture than that of today?
Some military intelligence historians believe this, to be the reason for Aung San's assassination?  So too, some believe, that these early actions taken by him, inadvertently, laid the foundations of today's Burma, possibly even the whole of South East Asia, by creating a roll on effect, starting with his predecessor 'U Nu' being overthrown, after being elected leader of Burma. and, who was never to be elected out of office!

We tend do receive a number of enquires in regard to the question of events during and after the second world war, which proves that some Burmese people do delve deeply and then formulate their own answers.
Although we do not mind responding, it is the archives we use to draw our own conclusions, and must not be taken as fact.  Even the few men left who lived these times, men who knew Aung San, and his team members, prefer to leave the past, in the past.
It must be understood, that anything written is purely how the author viewed it, or intended it to be viewed, it does not necessarily represent the full facts or truth.  This is the problem we must face when dealing with history, more so if written as intelligence files?

Controversy, intrigues historians, it makes them dig deeper into the archives of government and military intelligence and mis-infomation, in the hope to reveal the truth, but even then there will always be questions?

Burma today:
Every democracy experiences the new generations of voters. Which ever government rules while they were young invariably becomes the enemy because they know nothing else, and become bored.  The opposition manipulate this phenomena, in the hope of drawing in these new voters.  The fact that the out going party has vastly more experience, made the country strong, and gave these young voters the very voice of freedom they now speak with, holds no relevance to the young and immature.  Its only when they live under the government they chose, do they begin to realise how foolish they were to support them, as they stand watching while their country slips deeper into despair.

The new generation of Burma, see 8-8-88 as the beginning, they do not see beyond that time, even though thousands of patriots had died fighting for freedom.  A major player in this fierce war, was the PDP of today.  To ignore the PDP, or more importantly, fail to recognise its contribution, would be like the British of today, or indeed the whole world, ignoring the millions who fought and died in the second world war, which had Hitler succeed in winning, would have given us a world where only those chosen by Germany, (Japan would have been annihilated once their usefulness had ended, as with all of Hitler's selfish allies who he considered as inferior) would be allowed to live.  Whole civilisations would have been exterminated!  In much the same way, had the PDP, and its ethnic allies, given up the fight, the Military regime would now be in total control, the ethnic nations wiped out, and the 1990 elections would never have happened?  ASSK would never have been able to return to Burma, if indeed she would want to?  There would be no NLD, no NCGUB, no DAB, no CRDB, no NCUB, and no other political freedom party, and of course, no PDP.  There would be no foreign pressure.  It would be as though Burma was locked in a time warp.

So, do the people of Burma ignore their true benefactors, and instead, give thanks to the new gang on the street, even though circumstance created by the benefactors allowed them to be born in the first place, or should the people now start to realise who their saviours really are?

There are not that many chances left before the SPDC set their cast for ever, where it would once again be left to those who fought the longest, hardest and sacrificed the most, to start the fight all over again!  That would resemble shooting the surgeon who just saved your life!

Collective comment:

YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU!

16, June 2004

The words "I told you so" would, under different circumstances, be appropriate right now, if not for the fact, of everyone knowing beforehand exactly what the 'planned' outcome of this farcical convention would be.

The SPDC, will 'never' voluntarily relinquish power to the NLD, and, as the world has now witnessed first hand, or to, Aung San Suu Kyi in any manner or form!

This latest convention has, if nothing else revealed both the true depth of indoctrination of those taking part, and the complete irrelevance of the lady as a 'political force'.  It has been mentioned that those who attended the convention have, surprisingly been allowed to speak their minds, giving the impression that free speech prevails. (These apparent acts of submission on behalf of the SPDC, are purely for public propaganda)

Unfortunately these foreseen, subjects of concern, were not taken seriously before the convention, either by the Burmese people or the watching world, even after the PDP had sent clear signals to this effect.. This serious lack of acknowledgement together with complete disregard for any counter moves, (other than being dependant on outside help) has now placed the democracy movement right back into the pit of despair, again forewarned by the PDP.  Burma will have to pay the price for complacency unless someone can pull the pro democracy movement back from the brink!
A number of people have recently voiced their views on this issue, and some prominent individuals have described their own efforts at trying to set the path straight.  Burma's future depends on whether people heed common-sense?

There is, only one other party with the political prowess and solid infrastructure capable of taking on the SPDC.  Unlike many of the new groups which have popped up over the past few years, which consist of nothing more than a small group of politically inapt individuals trying to establish a status. The PDP on the other hand, is a party who considers all the people of Burma.  It is not a party, which wallows in its own glorification, but rather, it is a 'tool' of all the people of Burma, and its only wish is to guide them to freedom, where the ballot box will be honoured!

There is no one single party inside the Burmese political arena, who has shed more blood than the PDP in the fight against the military regime, while other less committed individuals sit back preaching their own testament, while others pay the price of freedom with their lives.

A comment published recently, hinted that there are no other political party's to possibly replace the NLD.  Think again, the countries future is at stake!

The PDP, which, as a completely rejuvenated independent political party, which has been fighting the regime for many years, and was, itself, caught up in the same mad hysteria as everyone else with the hope of freedom. However, the PDP today has dragged itself away from the quick sands of fantasy and is in strenuous opposition to the failed policies of the past and present.

The PDP is well capable of succeeding where others have continually failed the people, and is indeed moving forward on behalf of those people every day.

It is incredulously naïve to think that the NLD has any future as a political party while the SPDC stills rules.  The only way the NLD would ever become part of a democratic system where it could campaign for office, is after the PDP has opened all the doors of freedom.

The PDP is historically, a well established party and is, an integral part of both, Burma's political fight, and through the years, as a major player in the armed struggle as well.  Its members have paid the ultimate price for freedom many times.  Their sacrifices must be honoured, as they themselves, honoured the suffering people of Burma, for whom these brave patriots died for!
Its senior members (those who survived at least, but who bear many scars both physical and mentally) are life long veterans of great personal courage whose stories would bring tears of pride and commendation from even the most sceptical among us.  They suffered great hardship, heartache, and received serious political schooling, which cannot be learned from books, as many famous leaders through the years, found out to their cost.

The PDP represents all, and not just one element of society, and is seeking the ballot box and not glory.

The multitude of experiences and memories held by those members, coveted by Bo Aung Din's own exceptional qualities gained in the same way, place them all as a team, at a prime advantage point.  They know exactly how to attain freedom!

The past years have clearly revealed that nothing had moved on the political front until, the open debates and free expressions, brought about by the campaign for facing reality and truth, instigated by the PDP.  If it were not for the PDP, these open expressions, together with the breaking of the deadlock in the political arena, would not have come about, and the SPDC would have had a clear run, and individuals would still be afraid to say, 'Boo to a goose!'

The PDP has certainly convinced many people of its integrity over the years, and the history books reveal its pedigree, for those who care to study it?

Its sink or swim time for Burma.  The choice is simple.  The continued suffering under the SPDC, or the fighting chance with the PDP
